Ben Thanh Bus Station was moved to Ham Nghi street

Today (10 April), the Ben Thanh Bus Station was moved to Ham Nghi street which is 200m away. So, actually you just need to walk for a short distance to its new place. Ham Nghi street is now divided into different sections in which you can get on certain buses.

Because of many sections stretching along the Ham Nghi street, it is quite complicated to find the bus stop you need.

If you want to take a bus to the Tan Son Nhat airport, to make it simple, you can avoid Ham Nghi bus station by taking the bus (Bus No.152 or No.109) near Dai Nam hotel on Tran Hung Dao street as shown on the picture below.

How and Where to Take Bus to the Tan Son Nhat Airport

Taking a bus is always the safest and cheapest option for tourists. There are three bus routes from Tan Son Nhat airport to City Centrer and vice versa.

1/ Bus No.109

(Tan Son Nhat Airport - Ben Thanh Market - 23/9 Park)

Operating time:   5.30 a.m - 1.00 a.m on the next day
Departs                every 15 - 20 minutes
Duration:             about 45 minutes
Capacity:             70 passengers
Fare:                    VND20,000 ($0.88)
(VND12,000 ($0.53) if you take route under 5km)

To City Center:  International Terminal – Domestic Terminal (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) – Truong Son – Tran Quoc Hoan – Hoang Van Thu – Nguyen Van Troi – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Ham Nghi – Vong xoay Quach Thi Trang - Le Lai – 23/9 Park.
To Airport23/9 Park – Pham Ngu Lao – Yersin – Tran Hung Dao – Ham Nghi – Pasteur – Vo Thi Sau – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Nguyen Van Troi – Phan Dinh Giot – Truong Son – International Terminal
***Comment: High-quality and comfortable bus with good cooling system and free wifi. Friendly staffs are capable of communicating in English. Highly-recommended! 👍👍👍

2/ Bus No.49

(Directly from the airport to some hotels and vice versa)

Operating time:    5:30 a.m - 1:00 a.m on the next day
Departs                 every 20 - 30 minutes
Duration:              about 30 minutes
Capacity:              29 passengers
Fare:                     VND40,000 ($1.76)

***Comment: If your hotel happens to be one of the hotel bus stops, then it is more convenient for you to take this bus. The bus takes almost the same route with the same services as the bus No.109, but it takes less time to travel between the airport and city center than the bus No.109, because it does not stop at public bus stops.

3/ Bus No.152

(Khu Dan Cu Trung Son - Ben Thanh - Tan Son Nhat Airport):

Operating time:    5.30 a.m - 18.30 p.m

Number of seats:   26 - 55 seats
Fare:                      VND5,000 ($0.22)
(If your luggage is big and occupies a large space, you usually need to pay one more ticket for each luggage).

To City Center:  International Terminal – Domestic Terminal (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) – Truong Son – Tran Quoc Hoan – Vong xoay Lang Cha Ca - Hoang Van Thu – Nguyen Van Troi – Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Nguyen Thai Hoc - Nguyen Thi Nghia – Tran Hung Dao – Nguyen Van Cu - Nguyen Van Cu Bridge - Duong Ba Trac - 9A Street - Khu Dan Cu Trung Son
To AirportKhu Dan Cu Trung Son – 9A Street - Duong Ba Trac - Nguyen Van Cu - Tran Hung Dao – Ham Nghi –  Vong xoay Quach Thi Trang - Le Lai – Pham  Hong Thai – Cach Mang Thang Tam – Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Pasteur - Vo Thi Sau - Nam Ky Khoi Nghia – Nguyen Van Troi – Phan Dinh Giot – Truong Son – Domestic Terminal (Tan Son Nhat International Airport) - International Terminal
***Comment: The bus is a regular one with no wifi and the cooling system is sometimes not good. It runs more slowly than the previous two ones, because it stops at public bus stops. However, the fare is very low. And remember that this bus DOES NOT go to Pham Ngu Lao!!! 👀💪😎

Where to take the buses?

1. From Tan Son Nhat Airport:

When you go out of the airport, look to the right, you will see the bus stop. There you can take either of the three buses.

2. From Ham Nghi Bus Station:

Note: Since 10 April 2017, Ben Thanh Bus Station has been moved to Ham Nghi street.

More information:
Ben Thanh Bus Sattion was moved to Ham Nghi Street

*Bus 109:
The bus stop of No.109 to the airport is just a short walk from old Ben Thanh Bus Station.

*Bus 152:

The bus stop of No.152 is the same as No.109.  The board does not state bus No.152, so you just need to look for the bus stop of No.109 and you can take either No.109 or No.152.

To make it simple, it is advisable to take the bus No.152 and No.109 at the bus stop in front of Nguyen Thai Hoc elementary school (71 Tran Hung Dao, District 1) near Dai Nam hotel.
